Nguyen Hong Phuc
Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering @ VinUniversity. Research Intern @ HKU AIoT Lab. UGrad RA @ ICCL (VinUni & Trinity College Dublin).
I am a dedicated Electrical and Computer Engineering student at VinUniversity, specializing in AI, machine learning, and signal processing. My work bridges theoretical research with practical engineering applications, spanning semantic communication, multi-task learning for aquatic vision, and embedded AI systems.
I am currently a Research Intern at HKU AIoT Lab, The University of Hong Kong (Jul. 2026 – Present), supervised by Prof. Chenshu Wu, working on thermal sensing research. I also work as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Intelligence, Computing and Communication Lab (ICCL) at VinUniversity & Trinity College Dublin, under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Nguyen Van Dinh. I am the recipient of a $3,500 Student Research Grant to lead research on smart aquaculture systems.
Research interests:
- Wireless communications & signal processing (5G/Open RAN, semantic communication, energy harvesting)
- Machine learning & deep learning (multi-task learning, generative models, computer vision)
- WiFi sensing (cross-environment human pose estimation, passive localization)
- Quantum computing & quantum information
- IoT & embedded AI systems (smart aquaculture, edge AI, flight control)
